WW1 and WW2 bi-metal King's Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) Cap Badge
In VGC, with slider to obverse. Perfect to complete a cap badge collection. Used in WW1 and WW2.
The KSLI was first formed in 1881 during the Childers reforms through amalgamating the 53rd (Shropshire Regiment) of the Foot and the 85th King's Light Infantry. The KSLI participated in the Boer War of 1899-1902 and fought across the Western Front (notably in Ypres, the Somme and Salonika) in WW1 with a total of 13 Battalions. WW2 saw them participate across the globe including during the retreat to Dunkirk, the North African campaign, the invasion of Italy and the D-Day landings in Normandy. The KSLI also took part on the Korean war of 1951-1952 and eventually amalgamated with three other regiments in 1968 to form the Light Infantry.
We have a number of these cap badges and all are very similar in appearance. The one you get may look slightly different to the picture you see but very similar.
