The final version of the Middlesex Regiment - The 'Die Hards' - journal issued in October 1967.

Originally formed from the amalgamation of the 57th (West Middlesex) and 77th (East Middlesex) Regiments of the Foot in 1881. The 57th were nicknamed the 'Die Hards' during the Peninsular War during the battle of Albuera in 1811 when Colonel Inglis implored his men to 'Die hard 57th, Die Hard!' when severely wounded.

On 01 January 1967 the Middlesex Regiment, the Queens Royal Surrey Regiment, the Queen's Own Buffs, the Royal Kent Regiment and the Royal Sussex Regiment all amalgamated to become the Queen's Regiment who later became part of the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment in 1992.

A fantastic piece of history, this being the very last issue of the Die-Hards Middlesex Regimental journal which wound down throughout 1967 following amalgamations. One for the history buffs.
