This medal honours long-term service in amateur theatre societies in the UK. Comes in original box and in excellent overall condition. The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) still exists today and was established in 1899.

Made in Birmingham and solid sterling silver.

Blue ribbon indicates 25 year's service and 2 x silver clasps indicate a further 10 year's service making the recipient someone who served 35 years in amateur theatre.

TAB - Is the maker's mark and refers to Turner and Simpson.

Anchor - Birmingham Assay Office

Lion Passant - Guarantees the purity of the metal at 92.5% pure silver

The "S" stylized inside a scalloped shield indicates a manufacture date of July 1942 to July 1943

A great piece of niche history awarded to a WW2 wartime recipient who had already dedicated 35 years of his/her life to amateur theatre which means they started in 1907. One assumes the recipient must have been at least 10 years old in 1907 making the individual most likely someone born in the mid to late 1890s. Nice.
