M1866 Chassepot Sword Bayonet, famously used on the needle rifle. This example has a good condition Yataghan blade and full working locking mechanism. It has been captured by Prussian forces at the time of the Franco-Prussian War (1870-71) and bears the mark of Solingen (Prussia) on the blade. All markings have been taken off, which was standard for the Prussian army to do, when examples of this sword bayonet were captured.
