This Long Service medal was instituted in 1961 and was awarded for 15 years of service in Organisations such as the Auxiliary Fire Service or National Hospital Service Reserve - see reverse markings.

Other versions for collectors included those issued in Northern Ireland, and Overseas Territories like Hong Kong, Gibraltar, Malta and the Channel Islands.

Clasps are sometimes to be found (rarely) on these medals and represent a further 12 year's service.

The obverse features the Head of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the ribbon is dark blue with yellow, red and green stripes.
